What Makes Our Program Different
What makes our program different is we have our Youth Advisory Board — a group of student leaders who use their voices, experiences, and creativity to shape the programs and events we design for youth across the city. They don’t just show up — they lead. Our Y.A.B. members help make decisions, plan programming, choose discussion topics, and guide how we show up in community.
We proudly partner with Baltimore City Public Schools to pay students stipends in recognition of their time, leadership, and contributions.
How Students Learn in Our Program
-
Discussion-Based Learning
Students learn through conversation, reflection, and shared experience — not worksheets or lectures. -
Student Voice & Choice
The youth decide the direction — from event themes to speakers to the issues we prioritize. -
Hands-On Workshops
Students work together to brainstorm ideas, plan experiences, and build real solutions. -
Guest Experts & Mentors
Local entrepreneurs, creatives, and professionals lead sessions, share advice, and answer real questions. -
Design Thinking Process
Youth identify problems they see in their schools or communities → brainstorm solutions → test ideas → build impact projects. -
Mental Wellness & Identity Building
Students learn confidence, emotional awareness, positive communication, and self-leadership.
